Contract Designer - SmashFly

Design. Strategy. Brand. Creative problem solving. Those are the words that get you up every morning. You’re ready to take the last 1-2 years you’ve been working as a designer, building that killer portfolio, and thrive as part of a stellar creative team. You enjoy working at a fast pace and growing your skillset rapidly. You’re fluent in Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. Bonus points for any knowledge in development, illustration, photography, or videography.

A little about us: Our marketing team is high performing, high energy, and highly collaborative. Every person has an opportunity to contribute ideas, make them happen, and learn a ton along the way. You’ll be given responsibility and expected to run with it, but more importantly; trusted with it. As the team’s sole designer, you’ll be working directly under our Creative Director, Joshua Sims (40 under 40 for Boston Business Journal 2016, and winner of several, Webby, & Hatch awards). Josh has a passion for mentoring young creatives and works to make sure he’s helping them move forward in their careers.

This is a part time contract position, where we’re hoping the designer will work 2 – 3 days in our Boston office each week.

What we’re looking for

  • You’ll design awesome pieces of marketing material across multiple mediums including print, digital, and web
  • You’ll partner with members of our marketing and sales teams to conceptualize and execute all kinds of cool things
  • You’ll elegantly translate business goals and requirements into beautiful concepts
  • You’ll collaborate, give and take constructive criticism, enjoy playful banter and bottomless beer
  • You juggle multiple tasks with weekly deliverables, while developing and ensuring best design practices, processes.
